LCI Radios Europe 1 France Inter France Blue NRJ RTL Social Networks Facebook (not measurable) LinkedIn YouTube (not measurable) Retail Crossroads e-leclerc and leclerc drive Intermarché Monoprix Telephony Bouygues Telecom Free Orange SFR TV CanalPlus France TV M6 Netflix TF1 URSSAF X / Adults Jacquie and Michel Pornhub Xhamster Xnxx Xvideos I based my choice on the numerous visible rankings, from the rankings of new car sellers in France to the rankings of the most visited sites. So: what are the French doing on the Internet during the coronavirus crisis and which sites are doing the best? I looked at 2 figures: the evolution over the last 30 days and the evolution over the last 60 days.
Here are the results by sector: Automotive The figures really surprised me: based on Email Data the 5 sites analyzed, less than 1% growth over 30 days but 8% growth over 60 days. Would some French people take advantage of the crisis to find out about their next car? This may come as a surprise, but if so, it's a pretty positive sign. French brands are doing quite well: +8% over 30 days and +14% over 60 days. I analyzed the Top 5, so I only have one foreign brand: Volkswagen. Volkswagen lowers the average: -29% over 30 days and -17% over 60 days. If in addition to thinking about an upcoming car purchase, the French think about “French brand”, it’s really a good sign. We will see post-crisis if these visits translate into an increase in sales compared to 2019. Banks I only looked at the top 3 French banks.
The situation is quite paradoxical: the traffic of BNP and Société Générale remains stable while that of Crédit Agricole explodes: +20% in 30 days and +52% in 60 days. Merchants / e-commerce The category is stable over 6 days and has increased by 2.6% over the past 3 days. There are winners over the period: Boulanger (+10% over 60 days) and Fnac (+11% over 11 days). The French would also start DIYing: progress of Castorama and recovery of Mr Bricolage over the past 30 days. Information sites I had the opposite surprise from the figures for the automobile sector: BFM, France Info and LCI are in decline. Several possible explanations: – Use of mobile apps to follow the news while in the office. – Given this news, perhaps many French people preferred to go directly to their television or perhaps direct traffic from these sites has increased significantly.
